There is no functional system of selective collection of municipal waste in Cetinje at the moment. For the recycling yard with a transfer and sorting station, a Feasibility Study was planned.
A comparative analysis based on a conceptual design was prepared by IPF2 for analysing the most feasible option for waste management in Cetinje. Accordingly, a Draft Description of Assignment (DoA) focusing on the Design and the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) of the Transfer/ Sorting Station (TSS) was prepared by PPF.
It was agreed to perform an analysis in form of a Feasibility Study (FS), in order to determine the most functional and economical variant for the implementation of the mentioned project.
The main goal of the project was to prepare a Feasibility Study for a recycling yard with a transfer and sorting station in accordance with the Decision on Amendments to the National Waste Management Plan in Montenegro for the period 2015-2020.
- Sub-Project was suspended by MERT, till issuance of the updated National Waste Management Plan for Montenegro 2023 – 2028 (NWMP; EPEM-Safege-EPEM Engineering, March 2024)
- Since the Sub-Project was within this NWMP evaluated as being NOT cost‐effective, the Sub-Project was not further followed up
