Brief Sub-Project Description

The project area (Municipalities of Plav and Gusinje), which together, including the surrounding villages have a population of ~20,000 inhabitants and an area of about 120 km².
After verification of the water quantities, specifically considering the results of the Census 2023 and accordingly the correct dimensioning of the water supply pipes, the Detailed Design and Tender Documentation was to be developed for:
- replacement of existing water supply pipes DN < 80 mm (~17.4 km, of which ~13.4 km in Plav and 4.0 km in Gusinje)
- Rehabilitation of existing reservoir Zavrs 1

The main objective of this Sub-Project was to provide the Project Area with a wastewater collection and treatment infrastructure. Based on the available documentation, the wastewater quantities and accordingly the correct dimensioning of the sewers were to be verified, the CBA was to be updated as well as the Preliminary/ Conceptual Design was to be updated/ elaborated for the WWTP.
The location for the planned construction of the WWTP is in the local community Brezojevice 1, next to the river Lim. The coverage of the sewerage network in Plav as compared to the number of inhabitants is 60% and the wastewater is directly discharged without prior processing into the river Lim. The wastewater of Gusinje is directly discharged into the rivers Vruja and Grnčar that flow into the Lake Plav. The sewerage systems of Plav and Gusinje are separated.
The Design and Tender Documentation was to be developed for:
- Detailed Design of the sewerage system(s) (~ 18 km), incl. BoQ and cost estimation incl. considering also parallel water supply pipes(in compliance with FIDIC Red Book, 1999 and Montenegrin standards and legislation
- Update/ Elaborate Preliminary/ Conceptual Design for the WWTP (in compliance with FIDIC Yellow Book, 1999 and Montenegrin standards and legislation); incl. Design Report and Cost Estimation
